Ms. Maciura graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1987, from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Arts degree in English Literature in 1988 and from Osgoode Hall Law School with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1991.
After being called to the Bar of Ontario, Ms. Maciura practised health law with the firm of Shibley Righton until 1994. She then joined the Ontario Medical Association as in-house legal counsel. In 1996, she joined the firm of Porter, Posluns & Harris and on July 1, 1997, Ms. Maciura and two other lawyers from that firm formed their own partnership, Steinecke Martin Maciura (now Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc), where Ms. Maciura continues to practise professional regulation.
Ms. Maciura regularly gives presentations to clients and law school classes on various issues relating to health law and professional regulation and has written articles for the firm’s newsletter, Grey Areas. Ms. Maciura is the author, along with Richard Steinecke, of The Annotated Statutory Powers Procedure Act, published by Canada Law Book.
Ms. Maciura is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Central Ontario Branch.
