Mr. LeBlanc received his B.A. (Hons.) from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. He obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) and his law degree (LL.B.) from Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario. He articled as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Ontario Court of Appeal and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991. He practised for seven years in the litigation section of the Toronto office of McCarthy Tétrault, principally in the areas of professional liability, medical malpractice, general commercial and employment litigation. He joined Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc in 1998, where he has continued practising regulatory and health law, professional liability and general civil litigation.
Mr. LeBlanc teaches Civil Litigation and Advocacy at the Bar Admission Course and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Advocates’ Society, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto and the Ontario Bar Association. He gives workshops to regulators on investigations, hearings and writing reasons and he is a frequent speaker at professional and legal conferences and he publishes a monthly internet newsletter, Professional Practice and Liability on the Net, which deals with professional liability, regulatory and employment law issues.
